Throwing On: Trimming

Take your wheel thrown pieces to the next level by learning how to create the perfectly finished bottom with trimming. This workshop is a dabbler-friendly approach to learning to trim, involving a needle tool and the maker's eye. With two provided pre-thrown pieces, we'll go over how to center and secure greenware back on the wheel. You'll discover how to create a clean and symmetric foot on the bottom of your pieces, how to clean up blemishes in your pieces and how throwing thicker opens you up to creating shape during the trimming process. You'll have the chance to play with a variety of trimming tools to see how they affect the end result.
