Amaco | C-01 Obsidian
Obsidian is a deep, opaque black celadon glaze that produces strong, reliable coverage and enhances texture by settling into carved or recessed areas. It fires to a glossy finish at cone 5/6, maintains excellent consistency across firings, and is fully mixable with other Celadon series colors for expanded palette options. Suitable for both decorative and functional ware due to its stable, dinnerware-safe formulation.
The (C) Celadon series from AMACO is inspired by traditional East Asian celadon glazes, offering glossy, translucent cone 5/6 finishes designed to highlight surface detail. These glazes are formulated for consistent results in classroom, studio, and production environments, and are fully mixable for creating custom color variations.

Shipping
Orders selected for shipping will be sent using a carrier and service level chosen to deliver your items as efficiently and reliably as possible. Shipping costs and delivery timelines are calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.
Once your order leaves our studio, you’ll receive a shipping notification email (separate from your order confirmation) that includes tracking information so you can follow your package’s progress.
Store Pickup
Store Pickup allows you to collect your order in person at the studio. Please wait to receive a pickup notification email before coming in—this email is separate from your order confirmation and lets you know your items are fully processed and ready for pickup.
Orders may be picked up during any open retail hours, which can be found here. Items will be held for pickup for up to 30 days from the date of your pickup notification. After this holding period, unclaimed orders may no longer be eligible for refund or replacement, so we encourage timely pickup.
Locker Pickup
Locker Pickup offers the same convenience as Store Pickup with the added flexibility of 24/7 access. When your order is ready, you’ll receive a locker pickup email (separate from your order confirmation) that includes detailed instructions, directions, and your unique locker access code.
Please read your pickup email carefully before arriving. By choosing Locker Pickup, you understand that you may be accessing your order at a time when studio staff are not on-site and assistance may not be available. Following the provided instructions will help ensure a smooth pickup experience.
Pickup lockers are located outside the back entrance of the studio. Please refer to your pickup email for directions and locker access details.
Locker Pickup orders are held for 30 days from the pickup notification date. After that time, availability and refund eligibility cannot be guaranteed.
