The Clay Sampler - Intermediate Throwing Workshop

This workshop is designed for a very important moment in a wheel thrower's journey- when they learn their favorite clay to throw with. Join us in the studio Friday evening to test 4 very different clay bodies on the wheel. You'll be given an opportunity to throw with Standard Clay's 225 Brown, 266G Umbria, 214 Scott's Red, and 213 Porcelain. This intentionally chosen range of clay bodies span different textures and colors, so you can really feel the difference without having to commit to a block. In the workshop, you'll be given a ball of each body and uninterrupted time to see how it feels and moves.

Please note: this workshop does not come with instruction and therefore is designed for ceramists who are able to center and pull walls on their own. Should you create any pieces you'd like to keep, we will bisque fire them…
